Springfield Trout Farm is a great place to bring the kids to learn to fish or to just hang out. Because Springfield Trout Farm will provide bait and rods, you don’t really need to bring anything. However I would recommend water, snacks, and sunscreen. Springfield Trout Farm is a little unique in that they charge you for what you catch. The average trout will cost you about $3.50. They will even clean your fish and pack them on ice to take home. You also do not need a license to fish here which will save you some money. But be careful, there is a $5 dollar charge for throwing your catch back into the water.
Springfield Trout Farm is only open on the weekends from 10am to 5pm. It is closed from December to February. It is a beautiful place to fish and it is really close to Columbia Historic Park so you could stop by there in the morning or afternoon.
The address is 21980 Springfield Road, Sonora, California 95370. To contact Springfield Trout Farm in Columbia, call them at 209-532-4623.
