		<description><![CDATA[With 200 buildings and over 100 years of history, Bodie Ghost Town is quite the attraction. In 1859, gold was discovered near this town at Bodie Bluff. A town was set up in 1861 to provide amenities to the 49ers. By 1880, there was an estimated 10,000 people there. Bodie was a rough town. Supposedly someone was killed every day, but that’s not surprising given the number of saloons, brothels, gambling houses, and Opium dens there were.
