Emigrant Wilderness is a wilderness area located within the Stanislaus National Park which is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is 25 miles long and 15 miles in width. Cherry Lake is an artificial lake created by the Cherry valley Dam on Cherry Creek. It is located about 25 miles east of Sonora and about 20 miles east of Twain Harte.
