Dodge Ridge Ski Resort

When Dodge Ridge Ski Resort opened for business in 1950, it had everything a new ski resort should have. But Earl Purdy, the owner, didn’t put in lodging accommodations, preferring that establishments in the surrounding areas took care of all that. With Twain Harte only about 20 miles away, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort becomes a convenient slice of heaven.

Dodge Ridge Ski Area offers a vertical drop of 1,600 feet, with a summit elevation of 6,600 feet, all over a mountainous terrain of 815 acres. There are 12 lifts leading to 59 runs at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort – 20% beginner runs, 40% intermediate runs, and 40% advanced runs. The longest run, Stagecouch, is 2 miles long. There are also 5 freestyle terrain parks plus a halfpipe.

If you don’t have your own gear don’t worry, Dodge Ridge Ski Area has all the ski and snowboard equipment you’ll need. At the full service Tech Shop you can get custom boot fittings, binding mounts and adjustments, hot waxes, full ski and board tune-ups and repairs. You can even try stuff out before you buy it at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort’s Demo Center across from the Sport Shop, or on the mountain’s Demo Center at the bottom of Chair 3.

It’s always nice to look good while having fun, so visit Dodge Ridge Ski Area’s Sport Shop where you can find the hottest new styles in clothing and accessories. And don’t forget sunglasses and goggles, the sun on the slopes can be beautiful but brutal.

When you’re not out on the slopes enjoying Dodge Ridge Ski Resort’s rugged beauty, you can rest your feet and satisfy your stomach at one of the eateries and enjoy the great view. If you want to stay on the mountain to dine, you can hang out at Local’s Café. Down at the base there’s the Creekside Café and Boulder Bar. Local’s Café is where Dodge Ridge Ski Resort has had its Way Station for many years, at the base of Chair 7, with inside seating as well as a great viewing deck. The Creekside Café offers a variety of eats from All American at the Grill to made-to-order salads and sandwiches, freshly prepared pizza, daily specials and more. Top it all off at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort’s Boulder Bar, where they serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, beer, and appetizers.
